Doina School Club

We provide a safe and engaging environment designed to preserve Romanian language and traditions, while aiming to make our children proud of their heritage. Everyone is welcome to our club, from 3yr olds to wiser ages, kids and parents or grandparents. 

 

Our curriculum is diverse and has been carefully crafted by our talented school team, coordinated by Laura Buliga. It includes activities such as learning to read and speak in Romanian, learning about Romanian history, places and traditions, play-based activities, sport activities (volleyball, soccer), creating precious artwork or singing and dancing Romanian songs. Whatever we do, we have fun, with respect...in Romanian.

 

Our school year and holidays are aligned with the Australian school year and you find us at the Newmarket Hall (212 Ashgrove Ave, Ashgrove), every 2nd Sunday from 3pm-5pm starting from 12 July in Term 3, unless cancelled with prior notice.

Arts & Craft based activities

Our school is fun, based on team work and we encourage arts and crafts for all our students

Music and Dance

We offer specialized classes in traditional Romanian dance, folk music, and visual arts to celebrate our artistic roots.

Play Based activities

Students participate in fun play based activities including indoor and outdoor sports.

Enrolling into Doina School Club

Our educators are very passionate about such a noble purpose and their work at the club is 100% volunteer work, from their heart. However, to be able to cover the cost of the venue hire and school materials, there is a nominal annual enrolment fee.

Student Enrolment FORM

The Romanian Association Doina Qld (RADQ) operates the “Doina” School of Romanian Language Culture and Civilisation (Romanian School Doina) in Queensland since 2024. This form is developed in accordance with the requirements published by the Queensland Department of Education as guidance for community language schools. The school “Doina” offers regular face-to-face classes and various activities during school terms. 

The Romanian School Doina reserves the rights to change any of its operational and management aspects at any time and inform the parents as required. 

The school classes will take place at Newmarket Hall, 212 Ashgrove Avenue, Ashgrove QLD 4060.
